my story:

did terrible in grade school (F student), probably the reason was cause i didnt know what i wanted to be except what people kept telling me what i was good at: the arts.

went to art school.
didnt like it, so i dropped out.
wasted loot.

dwindled my life down a flight of 6years.
during the 6years, found bboy art form.
the practice of the method, intrigued my thinking.
the discipline required training smarter.
thought about my health more in the means of exercise science & nutrition.
the more i studied health & wellness: the more i was hungry to learning more about nutrition & wellness.

6yrs later, landed a job in a MMA dojo.
formed my own personal training business.
went back to school to study nutrition.
government gave me grants.
leading with a 4.0GPA.

my hopes:
-graduate with a 4.0GPA
-get into grad school of Sports nutrition: 4.0GPA

was the 6yrs of not going to school a waste of time? yes & no.

Yes: def. could have been doing this way earlier, maybe in highschool?

No: learned alot about myself, now i know who i am.

experiment 1

what: experimenting subject (P. DeJesus) to see how GMU female interacts with test subject.

after 2wks visiting gmu’s campus.

conclusion:
there are alot of pretty girls who WANTs a guy to approach them.
but there are none.

i see alot of guys who do not approach girls in the street.
they have no balls.

the male types are segregated into 2 types.
generalizing it can be: the intelligent vs the douchebag.

i havent seen one yet: an intellectual guy who can be an asshole too:
the bruce lee

females will ALWAYS be attracted to the douchebag.
because the douchebag appears as if he doesnt give a fuck.
the more u ignore a girl, she loves it.

but females are even more attracted to an intelligent douchebag.
a fusion of both. the hybrid form.
these are rare & mysterious.
test subject is Mr. P.Dejesus.

Will need to do more lab experimenting.

to be continued…

This is what Greg Campbellock Jr. explained to Sundance and this goes out to everyone, not jus dancers…

Greg taught me 4 things to learn before he taught me one move and I believe this lesson can be applied to all dances.

1. The attitude: Clear the mind of fears and being judged by others, it is a handicap. Mistakes can turn into magic and do not let your fears inhibit your dance journey. With this attitude you can apply yourself to 100% effort leaving no residual in reserve.

2. Style and Grace: You must train your body to be able to follow your mind. To be able to do difficult strong movements that look easy but yet took many years of discipline.

3. Character: To express your dance that connects and touches others through your freedom to tell a story. To characterize yourself as a superhero and with this thinking your body can reach and extra 1% that normal thinking would prevent that growth.

4. The Funk: To be able to hear every instrument and respond to the music. To never forget the music is the driving force that needs your total focus.

Shrimping

Shrimping (Recommended for: Jiu Jitsu fighters)
Develops ground movement training drills to prepare for MMA & fitness exercise.
Recommended for: Dancers, MMA/Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Capoeira, Yoga practicioners.
Improves Flexibility, Spatial Time Theory, Awareness, Control, Speed, Reflex.

If you are a Jiu Jitsu/ MMA fighter, and you want to learn how to maneuver your body efficiently & effectively in ground movements, this is the perfect program. I teach drills and other kinds of ground movements for the effectiveness of certain situations. it may look like animal movements or dancing, but its actually an individual practice for muscle memorization for the benefit of awareness, flexibility, body mechanics, speed/ agility, spatial theory (space & time dynamics), reflex, micro-muscles of balance stabalization, isolation of calisthenics & plyometrics, mental focus, and breath control.

These movements are also great for unpredictability, if you ever find yourself caught in a certain situation in a fight (whether tournament or street fight), you can utilize these movements into your own combat system whether your in MMA or jiu jitsu or wrestling, so that you may counter/ parry/ escape. It will cause surprise and unpredictability, to trick the opponent. Also, you may find hidden areas of holes and loops that you can use to your advantage in a fight.

There is yoga, Ginastica Natural, MovNat, capoeira, ground acrobatics, wrestling, and breakdancing movements that are incorporated into it.

Story:

I have been breakdancing since 1998, before I came into jiu jitsu/mma.
I have been breakdancing for 12yrs strong now and other ground movements such as Parkour, Capoeira, Ground Acrobatics, & Yoga. and when i was introduced to jiu jitsu.
I started learning it and I already understood the concept of Jiu Jitsu. It made sense to me, because almost my life, Ive been training on the ground.

I already knew how to maneuver my body on the ground when grappling.

And I noticed not alot of fighters acquired the skill of ground movements within their own combat technique, so I developed a fitness program to teach and help these fighters acquire the necessary ground movement skill for their own repetoire.

I also studied independently on Exercise Science & Physiology, Body Mechanics, Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, Metaphysics, Meditation, Yoga, Ginastica Natural, MovNat, Physical Therapy, and Philosophy, and made sure to incorporate those aspects into my program.
Ive found myself in several street fights where I was forced to use this technique, and found out that every time it was successful. Ive escaped from arm bars, triangles, leg locks, etc.

3. bboy can be either FITNESS (Foundation) or ART (Style).
I choose style over anything because Im not just a dancer, im an artist as well.
I am all about the artistry of movements, creating new movements.

4. Teach FITNESS (Foundation) moves, then drills, then routine.

drills: five] 6 step (1 sec, 1 round). 6 step standing up. 3] 3steps. shuffle step.
routine: 6 step, 3 step, 6 step, 12 step, 6 step, standing 6 step, 6 step, cc.

movemental transitions. to increase flexibility and balance.
set: baby freeze.
set: sade flow.
set: blue lizard.

what inspires me in dance

New Movements.

Whether it be a new stacks combination, or new transition, or a different flow, something i havent seen before done in a different motion. That catches my eye real quick.

Abstrak SKMZ is a perfect example of this.

Im not so much into moves, or techs, or dynamism of power moves/tricks/flips.

I’m all about the arrangement of how to change a movement into a new motion.

kind of like, instead of doing flares the original way, as if it was done in the circular motion. what if flares were done in an infinite symbol motion, a sideways 8. that would blow my mind, and instead of being done continuously like a sideways 8, (cause that sh*t would get boring real quick) change it up including new levels of movements.

I never cared about power moves, or the crazy tricks/flips or techs.
I was all about the movements.

another person i like is Ducky DRIFTERZ & Ken Fury SUPREME BEINGS

——————————

anyways. i just had to write this out, bcuz lately ive been feeling dead inside.
trying to find that motivation spark once again to get back into my grind in bboying.

——————————

Why do I dance?
because it connects with my spirituality. And Dance is the greatest tool possible to find your true potential as a human being and a spirit, because it helps you connect to your inner soul deep within you.
and when you’re connected, you become happy.
When we’re not, we’re apt to the physicality, and we’re not happy.

I dance to continuously try to find new movements. because when your engaged into movements, you’re connecting with your spiritualism. and you’re involved, and your soul releases, thus your in a positive psychological state. makes me feel free.

update: the focus

since 2006

I have been trying to produce as many bboy films as possible. Whenever I get a chance.

But now I dont have a video camera. So Now I am trying to save up $ for the things to get to do what I love to do. All I wanna do all day is just make bboy films.

Go out at a late night. Put in the ipod, rock the puma suedes, concrete flow & film.
go back home, and video edit, choose the music, send the tape through the net.

Then make a bboy dvd, throw em out at jams.

Boom.

Thats all I wanna do. I dont care about anything else.

so these are some of the toys i am right now saving up $ to buy:
-Puma Suedes $60
-Apple iPod Nano $120
-Canon 550D/ Rebel T2i $600

No more going out unless its a bboy jam.
Saving up $. and Getting back to my MMA training.

and working on bboy power, footwork, and flips. going back to the fundamentals.

Mon - Thurs: Work, Bboy/ MMA.
Fri: Work, Bboy.
Sat: Bboy
